Compartmentalized signaling of RAS and RAP1

We developed a library of fluorescent probes that report when and where in the cell RAS and RAP1 becomes activated. Our most recent advance in this area is the demonstration that upon depalmitoylation, KRAS4A associates with the outer mitochondrial membrane. In collaboration with Eli Rothenberg (NYU) we are employing super-resolution microscopy and developing Halo tags that permit single molecule tracking to study the dynamics of mitochondrial associated RAS.
